A fairly recent article in the Washington post draws out some disturbing information.
People are not paying attention to the need to properly dispose of electronic equipment. In the United States rules and procedures are in place, but according to the article, very little is being done to enforce this proper disposal.

The Article is called “EPA Lets Electronic Waste Flow Freely, GAO Report Says”. The article was published on Wednesday September 17, 2008 by Juliet Eilperin. An online version of the article can be found here.

On the online edition you can see various comments posted by individuals in response to the article. Most of the comments take the oppurtunity to throw this at the Bush Administration and insult the Republican party but this just places blame it does not solve or help anything. The fact that this waste and these environmentally unsafe actions continue is quite disturbing, but even more disturbing is the fact that the blame game is taking priority over the solution.

To quickly go into the comments, one writer, has given up hope and writes ” There is no hope for the planet” but a more distressing comment is one presented by “NeedToKnow” who says that when he tried to find out details about the proper recycling and discarding procedures of electronics, he had a lot of trouble doing so. The Proper procedures are unknown to the general public and are practically being kept secret.

Safe Disposal and Environmentally safe procedures are critical to prevent toxins or toxic materials to seep into the Earth, but people have to know this! With no common knowledge of the danger, it is much more likely for the acts to be repeated.

Vernon Technology Solutions is committed to Environmentally safe disposal and electronics recycling.

Disposing of Electronics is not as simple as people think, you can’t just leave them out for the garbage collection until you are absolutely sure that they will be properly disposed of. It is up to all of us to be sure that both electronics and our world are kept safe.

Canadian Elections are a big deal!

As of September 10th, if you went to Google News and searched “Canadian Elections”, the first set of articles to come up are about why Canadians care more about the American Election then they do about the Canadian one.

But the fact of the matter is that Canadian Politics are important for Canadians even if they may seem less exciting.

Come October 14, 2008 or advance polling on October 3,4 and 6th it will be time for Canadians to vote.

For full information about the elections see the Elections Canada Homepage

Even if the media and pop culture sweeps Canadian Politics under its radar, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a flurry of activity blowing around us.

Parties are organizing and campaigns are coming up on full swing.
Meetings, Advertisements,  Campaigns, and Decisions are all in the making.

Election times are great time look into electronics and computer rentals. When you are at the meeting or trying to sell yourself to an audience, you want to have the best equipment, and you want it cheap (there are enough other expenses flying around).

For presentations to people wouldn’t you want high end laptops to help you make smooth videos and advertisements which are viewable? but also easy and fast to create? or powerful projectors to show your slideshow and media to more people and with less bluriness?

Vernon Technology Solutions rents out all sorts of IT equipment including laptops, notebooks, projectors, pritners, scanners, fax machines, and much more. All of this equipment can be rented ‘good as new’ and by renting you get better equipment for a smaller price.

Unlike the election, This Choice is EASY!
