Fighting against E-Waste takes a new form - TVs Zombies!

Vernon Technology is committed to proper and safe disposal of electronics. Unfortunatlely there just aren’t enough people who know the details and the dangers.

The Electronics TakeBack Coalition have a very large campaign going on about the need to take back and properly recycle equipment.

One of the latest updates in this campaign, is the TakeBack My TV. www.takebackmytv.com The campaign exists because the “digital deadline” is approaching. The deadline occurs on February 17 of 2009, when American TV stations will stop sending analogue signals and switch over to digital. (for more details ) This means that old televisions will be thrown into the garbage en mass and this a very big problem due to the toxic chemicals and materials.

Members of the Electronics TakeBack Coalition took an active role to ensure that companies will start up or upgrade their recycling program by “visiting” them in TV Zombie Form.  There is also a Campaign Video which can be viewed at http://www.takebackmytv.com/pages/zombies/

Have no fear, Vernon Technology solutions will not send Zombies after you… Not for now anyway, but it is important to note that this is a global issue.
