  • Lenovo X200 Tablet PC

The X200 Tablet PC is part of the Lenovo Thinkpad X series of Tablet PCs.

The Lenovo X200 tablet comes equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, Windows Vista, a 12.1″ LED backlit convertible tablet monitor and more.

Tablet PCs fall into three categories:

    1. Slate - No dedicated keyboard. These Tablets rely on fingers or stylus. Slate Tablets tend to be more rugged and mobile as they have less parts to protect from heat, humidity, or vibration/dropping damage. Slate tablets do not swivel
    2. Convertible - Larger and heavier then Slates, but they include keyboards. These are still the most popular, because not everyone is comfortable with a computer with no keyboard, or they feel it is less efficient to use a stylus rather then typing.
    3. Hybrid - A combination of the two styles above, by having a detachable keyboard and some form of swivel or hinge. These laptops can switch from one form to another depending on situation of the time.

Notable Slate PCs: Panasonic Toughbook 08, Samsung Q1, Fujitsu Stylistic ST5010
Notable Convertible PCs: Lenovo X200, Dell Latitude XT, HP Compaq 2710p, Toshiba Portégé M200
Notable Hybrid PCs: HP Compaq TC1000, HP Compaq TC1100

The HWD of the Lenovo X200 is about 1.31″ by 11.61″ by 8.98″ and the tablet itself weighs just under 4 pounds. So for all the high-end technology inside, this tablet PC remains very mobile.

IBM/Lenovo products are known for their many bells and whistles. As a Thinkpad product this tablet PC comes with ThinkVantage, Trackpoint, and much more. The tablet also has a built in webcam and fingerprint scanner.

Be careful not to get confused between the Lenovo X200 Tablets and the X200 Laptops. The product code may be the same but there are many differences between the two products.

Vernon Technology Solutions offers the Lenovo X200 Tablet PC for rental and leasing. When it comes to computers prized for portability, it pays to have one when you need it but be able to avoid paying for additional unused times.

Rent or Lease Computers in Canada

Renting and Leasing computers can be a very wise choice. There are times when it pays off to rent a machine for the amount of time you need it and then return it rather than letting it sit in storage and depreciate.

    • For Tradeshows, Conventions, and other such 1 shot events, you might want a newer laptop or large screen display. These devices will only be used for a few days so why would you want to purchase them at full price.
    • For Travel, renting a laptop or notebook allows you to bring your information and any important documents with you. When renting also keep an eye out for mobile internet sticks such as the Rogers Rocket. These devices let you bring instant internet connectivity with you wherever you go.
    • For office communication, Video Conferencing is getting a lot of hype these days, but why pay for expensive hardware? Leasing out the Video Conferencing Hardware and just buying the Software as a service could be a great way to hold onto your money.
    • For Startup companies, renting Desktops, servers, networking devices, laptops and more is a great way to keep the initial cost low, by not having to drop a lump sum, but it also allows you to test each product as it will fit in your new business.

These are just a few examples of places where renting has a distinct advantage over buying.

Vernon Technology Solutions is a computer rental and leasing company with over 25 years of experience. Vernon has computers of all shapes and sizes available. Whether you want a high end device lik a server or a mobile workstation down to a mini-notepad or an ultra mobile pc.

Video Conferencing companies have been telling people that their technology can slash your travel expenses, but now The Travel Companies are fighting back

Value Added Article - Spotlight On The Value Of Travel

Many advertisements, articles and blogs have been popping up recently announcing to the world that Video Conferencing can Slash travel expenses by offering direct communication all over the world without leaving the office.

At the National Business Travel Association’s annual convention, The travel industry took a stance in response. The article is quite intriguing and this blog is not going to summarize, please feel free to read it from the link above.

This blog is here to take a middle ground so that readers can get a middle view.

On one side, teleconferencing and video conferencing are not going to replace travel entirely. I do not think anyone is making that claim. Meeting face to face and in person still has many more advantages. On the flip side, Video conferencing allows a company to talk with customers or fellow employees all across the globe in short spurts. So a 10 minute conversation with the branch in England is now possible without a days worth of travel.

With these two premises, where are we left?

We are left in a scenario where a company will want an inexpensive but high quality video conferencing product to do a large portion of long distance sales and meetings, but not 100%. Travel and face to face is not to be left out.

High quality video conferencing can be difficult and expensive if you choose a difficult vendor or the wrong product. Video-Cloud, (www.video-cloud.com) would like to introduce you to a new concept; Video Conferencing as a Service.

Video Conferencing as a service means that a company rents out the Video Conferencing hardware for a designated time and uses it when they need it. Leased Video Conferencing lets you pay in small amounts over time rather then investing a large lump sum to begin and it means that all the hardware details are in the hands of the provider. Less for you to worry about. Video-Cloud has many different products and many different customized leasing cycles, so we can best meet your needs.

The travel companies don’t have to pack it all in yet, but at the same time, for your video conferencing needs, you should get the best quality, but not pay the highest price. Please visit us at www.video-cloud.com for details.

Vernon Technology Solutions is a rental and leasing company for all sorts of IT equipment.

Vernon has over 25 years of experience in the field and rents many products including brand name computers, laptops, notebooks, projectors, network equipment, LCD monitors, LFD monitors, display screens, printers, and much more.

People often wonder why if it is worth it buy rather then rent. For individuals the answer is not so obvious, but for companies and businesses it becomes much easier.

There are many advantages to renting for companies:

    1. Removes the problem of having hardware sit in storage and depreciate.
    2. Allows payments to match time periods of use rather then one large lump sum at the beginning.
    3. Try out a product before spending the big bucks on buying a large quantity.
    4. Get high quality equipment and always have the option of getting the latest technology.
    5. The renting company will deal with repairs and other costs. You get a tested and high quality product with a warrenty.
    6. Lump sums are hard when buying large quantities, renting can help releive that burden.

Another big time for renting is one shot events. Conventions, tradeshows, global business meetings, and other such events are very rare, but when you go you want to give the impression of being the newest and hottest. The High-end products are expensive to buy and not worth it if they will be used a handful of times and deprciate. Instead you can rent the product with for the length of the event and then return it.

All of this being said, I am writing this blog from a rental company, so why should you take my word. Below are a few links to other people who see the advantages of renting over buying.
