HP’s Commitment to the environment

Companies need a Commitment but its important that you commit too!

Vernon Technology Solutions would like to help you commit to the environment. In the world of electronics and IT, this commitment is very important. E-waste is growing as one of the biggest pollutants worldwide.

HP has made a significant commitment to the environment and has been posting many different endorsements to convince their customers that it is worthwhile to do the same.

  • The Choose to Re-use Competition - This competition is sponsored by HP and it asks people to send in their most interesting re-use of old equipment. The idea is that all sorts of different things can be re-used rather then thrown in the garbage.  Visit the link to add your own or vote for your favourite.
  • The Carbon Footprint Calculator for printing - is an online calculator to compare energy, Electrical cost, pages per minute and carbon footprint of your printer and compare it to the environmentally friendly HP printers.

HP’s Commitment to the environment is very noble and we hope that it keeps them going for a long time. But at the end of the day a commitment to the environment cannot just be at the hands of the companies, people have to commit also.

Please visit us at www.computer-recycling.com for details on how you can help out and do your part in recycling electronics. Vernon Technology Solutions will buy back your old equipment and recycle the parts.

It’s a worthwhile venture and its for a good cause and we’ll pay you to do it!

Throwing your data on the street or into the sewer is not a best practice

This picture is taken at the corner of Alden Road and Esna Park Drive right next to the Vernon Technology Solutions Head Office. This picture is real, but this is NOT the way to safely dispose of your data.

In Santa Clarita, there is a Safe Data Disposal event coming up soon:
http://www.the-signal.com/news/article/18642/

Events like these may not be common, but they lead the way in showing people the best practices and safest ways to destroy your data. By properly destroying your data you protect yourself from identity fraud and help keep our world clean.

For safely disposing of Computer and Technology products and to protect your identity and secrets from theft, there are two important measures that must be taken.

  1. To protect your data- you should physically destroy your Hard-drives and disks
  2. To protect the environment - you should properly recycle all your electronics.
Computers and other electronics do not go into the garbage. Take them to a recycler or send them to Vernon Technology Solutions.

The picture may be a good example of destruction, but it is definitely not an environmentally friendly way to go about it. Littering the streets or the sewers with old disks is not a good practice. It may seem obvious, but this picture is real; I took it myself on my phone, only a block away from our office where we deal in data destruction and recycling.

Please visit www.computer-recycling.com for more details about Recycling your electronics and for protecting your data please visit www.vernoncrusher.com

With your help, the world can prevent identity theft and keep our environment clean.

Buy Brand Names or No Names?

Renting or Leasing Brand Name Computers

Its a question that we ask about everything these days…
Should I buy a brand name product or should I buy a no name clone.

When it comes to computers there is no overarching answer, but there are reasons to choose one over the other. For a computer rental or lease, a Brand name computer is the better choice most of the time.

Why?
- Easier to find parts, components and drivers.
- Longer warranties and the warranties are more widespread.
-Higher quality machines
- Brand name companies can afford to make the machines more durable. They also want to keep the products reliable to ensure consumer loyalty.
- More Tech support available

No name clones have their advantages, but for a rental it is not a smart move unless you really know your way around the machine and are willing to do the repairs yourself or with smaller groups.

No names may be cheaper to fix but they break more often. For a rental, it would be better to have the working product longer.

Vernon Technology Solutions only rents brand name equipment and we offer warranties on all rentals. Vernon leases and rents Computers, Projectors, Monitors from many top of line brand name companies including HP, IBM, Apple, Toshiba, Samsung, Dell, and much more.

When it comes to renting or leasing- you want quality products and Vernon Technology Solutions has high quality, Grade A machines available for you. Give us a call today or visit us online at www.vernontech.ca
